Dr. Mirjam Quinn is in her element working with three things that feel distinctive but are not: how children develop resilience, how leaders build organizations, and what it takes to create a workplace where people stay.

As a licensed clinical psychologist trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, SPACE, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention, she has spent nearly two decades helping parents move past a false choice – rescue the struggling child, or let them fend for themselves – toward something a little different: teaching kids to trust their own capacity while staying close enough to catch them if they fall. Her clinical work centers on anxiety, grief, life transition, and the particular terrain of adoptive and blended families, informed by her own six-year path through infertility and loss before building her family through adoption.

That same conviction – that people grow stronger through trust, not rescue, and that people stay when we make business decisions grounded in humanity and relatedness – became the operating principle behind Mirjam Quinn & Associates. Twelve years later, MQA has grown into an Inc. 5000 company that holds a Gold Bell Seal recipient for workplace mental health and is a professional home to more than 40 talented, smart, caring, kindhearted, and often devastatingly funny human beings.

Dr. Quinn was named NAWBO’s 2026 National Woman Business Owner of the Year and is an IWEC award winner, recognized among women business leaders creating impact across 20+ countries. She is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program and holds a certificate in Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching from Harvard Medical School. She speaks and writes on the psychology of trust, the architecture of belonging inside organizations, and how to create cultures that are bigger than their leader.

She holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Purdue University, is PsyPact licensed across 30 states, and is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Illinois Psychological Association, NAWBO, and the Women Presidents’ Organization. She lives in her beloved Chicago, where she serves as the President of the board of Fair Fund Chicago, a literacy equity organization, and as Vice President of the board of Run Like a Cheetah, a nonprofit bringing the confidence-building power of running to grade schoolers citywide. She loves her husband, her kids, her friends and her pets, hiking, reading, puzzles, and good food.
