I am a doctoral student at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University completing a therapy externship year with Mirjam Quinn and Associates. At ISPP, I am completing the trauma concentration and intend to specialize in trauma treatment in my practice. I am additionally interested in identity development, gender, anticolonial psychology, and madness studies. Most recently, I completed a diagnostic training year with LifeSpan Counseling and Psychological Services in which I became familiar with how various psychological and neurodevelopmental conditions manifest across the lifespan.
I’ve previously worked in roles focused on support and resource coordination for QTPOC children, adolescents, and young adults. As an Indigenous Latino, I especially find the practice of storytelling to be a powerful tool that not only develops relationships with our communities and selves, but also as a tool to heal. As a therapist, I seek to develop a setting in which we can explore the story of how an individual knows themselves, the world around them, and the dynamic that they want to have between these pieces. My approach is additionally informed by my history as a researcher and scholar in interdisciplinary studies. I seek to learn with a client who they are, who they want to be, and how we can work together to achieve those goals.
In my personal life, I am an eager consumer of documentaries and the arts. I enjoy stitching, crafting, and illustrating and will often tailor or customize my own clothes.
